Carnival Corporation has placed an order for its three largest vessels ever, each capable of carrying almost 8 000 guests at full capacity.
The three LNG-powered ships will be constructed by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, and will be delivered in the summers of 2029, 2031 and 2033, respectively.
The order will bring a new ship class to the cruise line.
With over 3 000 staterooms and weighing nearly 230 000 gross tonnes each, the three vessels will be the largest Fincantieri has ever built, and the biggest ever built in Italy.
Once they are delivered in 2033,Carnival Corporationwill have a total of 16 LNG-powered ships including eightCarnival Cruise Lineships making up almost 30% ofCarnival Corporation'sglobal capacity and delivering immediate greenhouse gas emission reductions.
