Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that midfielder Joelinton is a major doubt for his sides crucial Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

DAILY POST reports that Joelinton suffered a potentially costly injury during Newcastles Premier League 2-1 defeat to Fulham last weekend.

The Brazilian sustained a knee injury and was pictured wearing a brace over the weekend.

However, Newcastle will host the Gunners at St James' Park on Wednesday night in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Howes men had won 2-0 against Arsenal in the first leg at Emirates Stadium last month.
