Cape Towns Fire and Rescue Service partnered with hundreds of bikers for the 42nd annual Toy Run Cape Town this past weekend. This charity event, which concluded at Killarney International Raceway on Sunday, collected an estimated 16,000 toys for children in foster homes, orphanages, and places of safety.

Fire stations across Cape Town were used as drop-off points for toy donations. The event featured a convoy with a fire engine loaded with toys, escorted by firefighters who joined the bikers' procession to the raceway. JP Smith, mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, highlighted the overwhelming generosity and participation of Cape Town residents.

The Toy Runs success has inspired the Fire and Rescue Service to support similar initiatives year-round by establishing fire stations as ongoing collection points for donations. This will make it easier for residents to contribute to charitable causes and continue spreading joy to children in need.
