Cape Town To Deploy Additional Law Enforcement Officers To Each Ward

The City of Cape Town is planning to deploy additional law enforcement officers to each ward as part of its additions to its 2025/26 proposed budget, reports Cape town Etc .
This is according to Bonteheuwel Ward Counsellor and Sub Council 15 Chairperson Angus McKenzie, who said he is in full support of this particular addition as well as the proposed budget as a whole.
This means the proposed addition will see six more law enforcement officers patrolling Sub Council 15 - a large portion of the metropole riddled with gun violence , gangsterism and high crime rates.
These officers will be permanently deployed to each ward work in partnership with community structures to deal with everything from gang violence to illegal dumping, noise disturbance and traffic enforcement to mention a few, said McKenzie.
Sub Council 15 consists of five wards 31, 43, 50, 51 and 52 that include the areas of Bishop Lavis, Bonteheuwel, Matroosfonein, Langa, Clarkes Estate and surrounds.
