Cape Town Road Makes It Onto List Of Most Dangerous Roads In Sa

The Department of Transport DoT has issued a warning to South Africans, wherein they outlined the most dangerous routes and roads across the country,

The Transport Minister, Barbara Creecy, has indicated that road accidents and crashes last year cost the South African economy approximately R205 billion.

A total of 11, 883 road accident fatalities were recorded during 2023 and an astounding 1285 of these deaths occurred during the festive season.

As such, the Department is working closely with the Road Traffic Management Corporation RTMC, as well as with provincial and municipal authorities, to implement safe-guarding measures during the 2024 festive season.

Implemented initiatives will focus on enforcement, education, and pedestrian safety.
