Cape Town Launches Film Fund To Boost Local Storytelling

The City of Cape Town has launched an exciting initiative to nurture its rich storytelling culture with the inaugural winners of the Cape Town Film Fund, Cape town Etc reports.
This newly established fund aims to support filmmakers who are dedicated to showcasing the city's picturesque landscape and diverse narratives through a variety of screen projects.
In an announcement that heralds a new chapter for local cinema, seven groundbreaking productions have been selected to receive funding.
The recipients include a feature film, two short films, two television series, a reality TV show, and an animated short. This eclectic mix reflects the ambitious and varied tapestry of South African storytelling, underscoring the creative potential that the Mother City holds.
According to the Mayco member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith these projects span numerous genres and themes, each offering a fresh perspective on Cape Towns vibrant culture.
