Cape Town K9 Unit Recover Stolen Goods Worth R1m From Hijacked Truck

Swift action by Cape Town polices K9 unit led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man and the recovery of a truckload of stolen Nestle products worth approximately R1 million in Athlone, reports Cape town Etc .

According to police spokesperson Aneliswe Manyana, the truck carrying the food products was hijacked just before 6am on Tuesday.

Manyana added that the SAPS K9 unit was alerted by the security company responsible for tracking the track, who traced its location to an address in Mymoena Crescent in Athlone.

The members swiftly operationalised the information and spotted a vehicle that was returning to the mentioned address, said Manyana.

A high-speed chase ensued and the driver of the vehicle was arrested as the video CCTV footage positively linked the suspects vehicle offloading the stolen goods.
