Cape Town City Seek Orlando Pirates Scalp As Stellenbosch Fc Chase Kaizer Chiefs

THE past weekend was a pretty good one for the Western Cape clubs, with both Cape Town City and Stellenbosch FC victorious in their respective matches.

The Citizens beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in a Premiership match marking Muhsin Ertugrals return to the local game, while Stellies won 2-0 against Lunda Sul to give themselves a chance to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.

The two clubs now have the chance to shine even further tonight on what is a Cape Town versus Johannesburg evening, City hosting Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch away to Chiefs both 7.30pm kick-offs.

Ertugral the revered Turkish coach who has been in charge of numerous clubs in the domestic Premiership is champing at the bit to meet yet another of his former clubs.

Back in South Africa after a six-year absence, during which he worked with the Turkish national team, he has joined City as their technical director on a three-year contract but will be coaching until the end of the season after the sacking of Eric Tinkler.
