Cameroon Club Presidents Disown Etoos Fecafoot At Minsep, Make Bold Proposals
On December 18, 26 MTN Elite One and Two club presidents or their representatives urged President Paul Biya to intervene in the escalating tensions between them and the Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT, led by Samuel Eto'o Fils. This call was made during an ad-hoc meeting organized by Minister Narcisse Mouele Kombi at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education's conference hall.
The meeting, attended by representatives from clubs like Cotonsport, Canon Yaound, and Dragon, aimed to address issues related to government-allocated grants for Elite One and Two clubs and to make recommendations to be forwarded to the head of state through Minister Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh. Minister Kombi praised the club presidents and investors for their efforts and encouraged them to provide accurate information to the head of state, who was recently honored by CAF for his contributions to football development.
Notably, FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto'o was absent from the meeting and did not send a representative, despite being invited.
It's a tense situation in Cameroonian football. What do you think should be the next steps to resolve this conflict?
