In a thrilling semi-final match at the Afrobasket U18 comptition Cameroon edged past reigning bronze medalists Angola with a final score of 65-63.
The game started with Angola taking an early lead, going up 4-0 before Cameroons Yolande Masndi and Andrianne Abada quickly responded, narrowing the gap to 5-4.As the first quarter progressed, Angola managed to maintain a slight edge, leading 9-7 midway through the quarter.
However, Cameroon fought back, with Abadas remarkable jump shot putting them ahead 11-10. Damaris Emedie played a crucial role in the offensive push, helping Cameroon to extend their lead to 15-10 leading to 20-14 by the end of the quarter.
As the second quarter unfolded, Angola regrouped, with Ana Servico, Luisa Amaral, and Franciany Cavula leading a comeback. They showcased an impressive 19-9 run, which allowed them to take a 33-31 lead at halftime, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.
The third quarter saw both teams battling fiercely, with Cameroons Suzy Nyeck leveling the score at 33. Despite their efforts, Cameroon found themselves playing catch-up until they finally regained the lead at 40-39.
