A by-election will be held today at Ward 9 in Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo, which includes parts of Dysselsdorp, Schoemanshoek and other outlying areas.
The by-election follows Patriotic Alliance PA councillor, Bertram Jantjies, joining the Democratic Alliance DA.
This is the second by-election in the ward this year.
The four candidates are Johanna Olivier of the African National Congress ANC, Bertram Jantjies of the DA, Flerencia Abrahams from the PA and Hendrik Botha from the Greater Oudtshoorn Civic Association.
