Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has defended Victor Boniface following the forwards angry reaction after he was substituted in the 2-2 draw against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Boniface scored the opening goal for the Bundesliga champions in the game.
The Nigeria international was replaced by Patrick Schick 20 minutes from time.
The 23-year-old exchanged words with Alonso as he approached the bench.
Alonso however refused to blame the player for the unfortunate incident.
