Boxingscene Owner Garry Jonas Hits Back At Turki Alalshikh In Tko League Row

BoxingScene owner Garry Jonas has defended a recent article on the publication by Lance Pugmire about the new TKO boxing league, which is backed by Saudi Arabias Turki Alalshikh.
The article reported on TKOs alleged contractual details, including fighter purses and a 10 million annual fee to be paid to UFC President Dana White and TKO to run the boxing circuit.
According to the report, boxers signed to the circuit will be paid as follows:
- 20,000 for a 10-round bout by an unranked fighter.
- 50,000 when ranked by "the company" at No. 5 to No. 10.
- 125,000 when ranked by the company at No. 3 to No. 4.
- 375,000 when challenging for "company" championship.
- 750,000 when defending "company" championship.
However, Alalshikh described the article as not factually accurate and launched an attack on Jonas.
I think Garry Jonas should focus on his business in Florida because he doesnt want the FTC Federal Trade Commission to call him again, he said in comments published on X by Ring Magazine .
I am wondering what is the structure of his business model with the rehab facilities and boxing."
Garry Jonas on Turkis commentsIn a press release on Wednesday 26 March, Jonas accused Alalshikh of seeking to exert undue pressure on BoxingScene and other news outlets.
He said he has not intervened in the publications coverage since he became its owner - and will not do so despite Alalshikhs strongarm tactic to pressure me into influencing the reporting.
Mr. Alalshikh also brought up past litigation against a company I have not been a part of in more than a decade, and he sought to tarnish the award-winning behavioural health company and treatment centres I currently operate, Jonas added.
I am proud to work with a team that provides help to thousands of patients suffering from addiction each year.
