Bongo, Dube Acquitted Of Corruption Charges
Former State Security minister Bongani Bongo, former head of the Mpumalanga Human Settlements Department, David Dube, and 16 others are free men.
This comes after the Middelburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court acquitted them of corruption charges on Wednesday.
Dube and Bongo were implicated in fraud and corruption related to R74 million in land deals.
They allegedly inflated the cost of two farms they bought in Naauwpoort in Emalahleni and Reitspruit in Ermelo for the provincial Human Settlements Department in 2021.
Dube says the charges were politically motivated.
