Bok Winger Edwill Van Der Merwe Makes Sharks Switch

Springbok wing Edwill van der Merwe has signed for the Sharks, the coastal franchise announced on Monday.

After plying his trade at the Lions since 2021, Van der Merwe, whose only Springbok cap came against Wales in 2024, has decided to move to the Sharks after opting not to renew his contract with the Johannesburg franchise.

Van der Merwe, 28, who started at the Stormers, scored on his international debut for South Africa, running in a brilliant solo try to earn the man of the match award, with the Springboks winning 41-13 at Twickenham.
