The body of an unidentified male was found lying along the R300 north ramp at the Stellenbosch arterial off-ramp on Friday morning, reports Cape town Etc .
According to reports, the ramp was subsequently closed as Delft police and emergency services attended to the crime scene near Roosendal Delft in the direction of Bellville at around 5am.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi confirmed that the unidentified man sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his stomach.
The victim was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The unknown suspect/s fled the scene, and they are yet to be arrested, said Swartbooi.
The motive for this attack is now the subject of an investigation by the South African Police Service.
