Police are investigating after they said the body of a man was found floating inside a North Miami Beach canal Monday morning.
According to the North Miami Beach Police Department, officers received a call from a passerby who spotted the body in the water near a residential area in the 1800 block of South Glades Drive.
Few details have been released as investigators remain at the scene, working to determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
A Local 10 News crew arrived at the scene, where the area was cordoned off with crime scene tape. Near the body, a white floating ring could be seen in the water.
Police are awaiting assistance from the medical examiner's office and possibly a dive team to recover the remains.
