Bobby Motaung 'must Be Given Full Responsibility To Run Kaizer Chiefs'

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siboniso Pa Gaxa believes the club would regain its glory if its Football Manager Bobby Motaung was given full responsibility to run it.

Amakhosi have underachieved in recent seasons, having won their last Premier Soccer League PSL title in the 2014/2015 season and the MTN8 in 2014. They finished 10th in the league last season and are currently sixth this season.

Reflecting on what needs to be done, Gaxa said picked Bobby and Head of Marketing Jessica Motaung to take full charge of Kaizer Chiefs.

"I always think that Bobby should be given full responsibility, not half, but full responsibility to run the club. Bobby is an exceptionally incredible man. It's unfortunate that people that don't understand him, don't know him, he told Robert Marawa on Marawa Sports Worldwide on Friday 17 January.

"If Jessica Motaung and Bobby, both of them, can be given full responsibility for that club, I strongly believe they would make exceptional changes. The club would then do well.

This then raised the question of where Bobbys younger brother Kaizer Motaung Junior, who serves as the Sporting Director, would fit in. Marawa specifically asked Gaza who should be asked to step aside.

I dont know. I just want those two to be given those responsibilities. I dont know who must leave or Im sure there are other positions that may be provided to any of the other kids, but these two, the dedication that I witnessed from them when I was at Chiefs, it was incredible, he responded.

The talented former right-back played for Amakhosi between 2012 and 2016, making 99 league appearances and scoring a solitary goal. He won two PSL titles and the Nedbank, MTN8 and Carling Black Label cups with the club.

Chiefs are under immense pressure to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.

"Our club is also working very hard to try and look at different profiles. It's not easy because it's January, but everyone is working very hard, head coach Nasreddine Nabi said earlier this month.
