Bma On High Alert Amid Mozambique Protests

The Border Management Authority BMA says it is on high alert and has contingency plans in place in case there are more protests in Mozambique following confirmation of Frelimos elections victory.

Mozambiques highest court, the Constitutional Council says Frelimos Daniel Chapo won over 65 of the vote, down from the 70 announced after the October poll.

There have been sporadic protests with people burning tyres in the streets of Maputo since the Councils announcement yesterday.

Some young people refuse to accept that the results are in favour of Frelimo. They say they are tired of bad governance and corruption.- Reporting by Clement Carlos.
