Bma Mobilises Communities To Assist In Reporting Border Crimes

The Border Management Authority BMA has launched operation Hi Tivise, aimed at mobilising citizens across the country to play their role in reporting suspicious criminal activities, in all South African Ports of Entry.

The BMA believes that the operation will assist in curbing criminal activities, such as human trafficking and smuggling illicit products from other countries into South Africa.

Commissioner Dr Mike Masiapato says this is BMAs commitment to end corruption activities happening in the ports across the country.

"We consider this a strategic initiative that underscores the Border Management Authority s commitment. Today we embark on a journey to empower citizens to be active participants, particularly when it comes to issues securing our borders. So, these particular operations are a call for action for all the travellers and community members, to join hands with BMA in combating unlawful activities in our ports of entry, as well as the broader law enforcement space."
