South Africas contingent at the Paris Olympic Games have drawn inspiration from the way the Blitzboks turned their fortunes around to reach the semi-finals and stay within medal contention.
The team was welcomed by South Africas ambassador in France, Nathi Mthethwa, while newly appointed Minister of Sports, Art and Culture, Gayton McKenzie provided further inspiration for the athletes.
The spirit of South Africa was on full display in Paris in the run-up to the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
Minister McKenzie reminded the athletes that the country is behind them, they should embrace their heritage and be proud of their achievements.
Dont stand back for nobody because you are South African and whether youre going to run or swim, you go there knowing that youre going to win and because you qualified you are already special.
