The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025, announced on Friday, includes WNBA legends Sue Bird, Sylvia Fowles, Cappie Pondexter, and Alana Beard. They will be joined by long-time Union University coach Mark Campbell, Lucille Kyvallos, who led West Chester College and Queens College to early success, and Danielle Donehew, executive director of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The induction ceremony will take place on June 14.
WBHOF President Dana Hart praised the honorees for their exceptional contributions to women's basketball, noting their role in shaping the game's history. Sue Bird, a standout player with five Olympic gold medals, four WNBA championships with Seattle, and two NCAA titles from UConn, was particularly highlighted. UConn coach Geno Auriemma praised Bird's leadership, calling her "the brains behind the curtain" who excelled at every level of the game, from the NCAA to the WNBA and the Olympics.
