US President Joe Biden has received a warm reception during his historic visit to Angola . He became the first sitting head of state from America to visit the oil rich African state.
Biden met with his Angolan counterpart, President Joao Lourenco, to discuss trade, investment, infrastructure and security, as well as deepening US-Angolan cooperation.
The US leader will also travel to Lobito on Wednesday for a summit on infrastructure investment with leaders from Angola, DRC, Tanzania and Zambia.
Biden says Washington and Luanda should do a lot together.
He says the US considers Africa as a key partner.
