Bayern Munich Legend Thomas Mueller Announces Departure After 25 Years

Attacking midfielder Thomas Mueller confirmed on Saturday that Bayern Munich will not offer him a new contract, bringing an end to his 25-year association with the club at the conclusion of this season.

The 35-year-old, whose contract is set to expire in the summer, expressed in a social media post that the decision came from the club and was not what I would have wished.

He mentioned he wasnt happy with how the contract negotiations unfolded in public but acknowledged the appreciation he received from everyone at Bayern over his long career.

Mueller, who joined Bayerns youth ranks at age 10, has won two Champions League titles and 12 Bundesliga championships.

He remains focused on helping Bayern secure the league title and reach the Champions League final this season, which will take place at Bayerns Allianz Arena.
