Bamboutos FC of Mbouda officially pulled the plug on their 2024-2025 MTN Elite One campaign on Monday April 14 after the clubs management announced their withdrawal. Strange enough the players were seen training just 24 hours later.

The move to continue training without their worries been addressed has left many pondering about their next move.

At the heart of Bamboutos decision lies a financial impasse. The club claims it has been left high and dry, with key performance bonuses including 50 million FCFA for clinching the 2022-2023 Super Cup, 25 million FCFA for finishing as 2023 league runners-up, and 15 million FCFA for their runner-up finish in the 2022 Cameroon Cup still outstanding.

On top of that, Bamboutos alleges they have been denied their rightful cut of gate receipts and sponsorship revenue, a critical lifeline for any top-flight club.

But the financial woes are only part of the story. Bamboutos has leveled serious accusations against FECAFOOT, claiming a conspiracy orchestrated by the federations hierarchy to sabotage their campaign.
