Several airlines have cancelled flights to and from Bali this week due to dangerous ash clouds from a volcanic eruption.

On November 12, Mount Lewotobi and Laki-laki, two adjacent volcanoes, spewed a nine-kilometre ash column into the sky. This dispersed into northern Bali, causing about 83 flight cancellations at Denpasar International Airport, reports British news source, independent.co.uk .

On November 13, some airlines, including Qantas, Virgin Australia, Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific were forced to cancel all their flights to and from the airport.

On November 14, Qantas and Virgin Australia resumed their flights between Australia and Denpasar, according to Travel Weekly . However, the airport website shows that Cathay and Qatar flights remain cancelled.
