Bail Hearing In Terror Financing Case Against Hoorzook Postponed
The bail hearing of the terror financing case against Ziyadh Hoorzook has been postponed to Wednesday 15 January. Hoorzook will remain in police custody at the holding cells at the Lichtenburg Police Station in North West.
He was arrested at his home in Johannesburg, last week following a lengthy probe into suspicious transactions allegedly linked to terror financing.
A suspicious Bitcoin transaction worth R11 500 was allegedly done in 2017, while Hoorzook was still residing in Lichtenburg.
Hoorzooks affidavit was read into the record by his legal representative before investigating officer, John Sithole, gave his testimony as a witness for the state.
Sithole says the states case against the accused is watertight and may lead him to evade trial, if he is granted bail.
