Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman registered an assist and scored the winning goal for Atalanta in their 3-2 victory over Fiorentina at the Gewiss Stadium, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman returned to Atalantas starting eleven when they welcomed Fiorentina to the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday. It was the Nigerians first game of the season after spending most of the summer unsure if he would stay at the club due to interest from PSG and Arsenal.
Atalanta had the home advantage, but Fiorentina drew first blood after 15 minutes, courtesy of a strike from Lucas Martinez Quarta. However it didnt take long for Atalanta to equalize as Lookman supplied a brilliant cross to Mateo Retegui who calmly converted to make it 1-1.
Unfortunately for Atalanta, their joy did not last as Moise Kean scored for Fiorentina, making it 2-1 for the visitors. However, Atalanta turned on the heat after going behind.
They got their rewards just before the break, as Charles De Ketelaere scored in in the 45th minute to make it 2-2.
