Residents of Atteridgeville and surrounding areas have been urged to use water sparingly following a water outage.

This after the reservoir that supplies water in Atteridgeville and immediate areas dropped significantly to a concerning state.

City of Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says residents should exercise restraint as water that is pumped in the storage facility gets consumed at a much higher rate than what the system can supply.

Mashigo says, Residents in the supply area are thus encouraged to use water sparingly. With the spring season upon us, residents and the business community in the jurisdiction of the City of Tshwane are reminded to continue with their efforts to conserve water.

This period is typically associated with increased water consumption, which puts a strain on the water supply system. Water conservation means using our limited water supply wisely and utilising every effort to conserve it.
