The 7 th annual Africa Tourism Leadership Forum in Gaborone kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony that showcased Botswanas rich cultural heritage. The KTM Choir, which won a gold medal at the 2023 World Choir Games in South Korea, started proceedings with a selection of folk songs and a stirring rendition of Botswanas national anthem.

Following keynote addresses by dignitaries, the internationally acclaimed Mabutswapele Cultural Dance Troupe treated delegates to energetic dances from all corners of Botswana.

Organised by Africa Tourism Partners, the event attracted 700 delegates from across Africa. Discussions focused on unlocking intra-African travel and facilitating infrastructure investment, visa openness and supportive creative and sports tourism as well as AI-driven tech opportunities.
