Arteta Eyes League Cup Glory As Launchpad For Arsenal's Trophies
Mikel Arteta has expressed his belief that winning the League Cup could provide Arsenal with the momentum needed to secure further silverware as he celebrates his fifth anniversary at the helm.
Since taking charge in 2019, Arteta guided the club to an FA Cup victory in 2020, but the Gunners have not added any more major trophies to their collection, despite coming close in recent seasons.
Arsenal, runners-up in the Premier League for the past two years, are currently third in the top flight, six points behind leaders Liverpool, having played one game more.
On Wednesday, Artetas side faces Crystal Palace in the League Cup quarter-finals, three days before meeting the same opponents in the league. Arteta is keen to use a cup run as a springboard to greater success.
Arteta highlighted the significance of winning the League Cup for Arsenal, a club that has not won the Premier League since 2004.
