Anc Welcomes Ceasefire Agreement Between Israel, Hamas

The African National Congress ANC has welcomed the ceasefire agreement that Israel and Hamas signed. It will see an end to the conflict that has led to thousands of people killed.

Last night Israels Cabinet approved a deal with Hamas for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip.

The implementation is expected to take effect on Sunday.

ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula says South Africa has been pushing for a ceasefire for months since Pretoria took the matter to the International Court of Justice.

Those who have undertaken the mayhem of perpetuating the genocide must be brought to book. We went to the International Court of Justice in South Africa. May the developments of the ceasefire propel us to realise a long-lasting solution which is the self-determination of the Palestinian people.
