Anc To Prioritise Local Government: Ramaphosa

African National Congress ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says they will prioritise fixing local government for the people of South Africa.

Ramaphosa was speaking at the Mandela Park Stadium in Khayelitsha where the party delivered its January 8 statement .

His comments come at a time where municipalities across the currently are struggling to deliver basic services to residents.

Ramaphosa says local government has not been functioning as it should.

Our second priority, comrades, is fixing local government and ensuring that local government works well. As we look throughout the country, we find that the most important area of government, which is local government, has not been functioning as well as it should. The National Executive Committee has decided that we need to focus on fixing local government, says Ramaphosa.
