The ANC says it will hold its much anticipated bilateral meeting with the SACP at Luthuli House in Johannesburg later this morning. The two alliance partners are seeking to find each other, following the SACPs conference resolution to go it alone in future elections.

The communist party said its decision was necessitated by the ANCs refusal to reconfigure the alliance. Although their historical ties span decades, differences between the ANC and the SACP are setting them apart.

These range from a failed reconfigured alliance to the GNU and the recent VAT increase.

ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula says hes hopeful about todays meeting.
