Anc Reconfigurations Not Meant To Purge Members: Malatji

African National Congress Youth League ANCYL President, Collen Malatji, says the partys reconfiguration of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal should not be viewed as a purge by some members of the party.

Malatjis comments come as the ANC has announced newly-reconfigured provincial task teams this week.

They will replace the Provincial Executive Committees in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Malatji says the newly-appointed structures have been put in place to ensure that the ANC gains some lost ground in the two provinces after the 2024 national elections.

And even those that were in the last PEC were not pushed out in the street because you cant afford people who are disgruntled to organise against the ANC theyve been put in. The reconfiguration of structures was not a process of purging comrades. It was a process of reinforcing and building a strong team to resolve the problems we are faced with, says Malatji.
