AmaZulu fired their fourth coach in four years since the Zungu Investments Company, owned by businessman Sandile Zungu, bought the iconic Durban club from Patrick Sokhela in October of 2020.

The Zungus - with Sandile serving as president of the club, and the controversial Manzini the director - promised to restore the pride of the oldest professional club in the country, and take Usuthu to new heights having become perennial relegation survivors under the Sokhela.

Manzini, however, was removed from his post earlier this year when his company, Pacina Retail, was embroiled in a controversial R2.4-billion tender to run the feeding scheme of schoolchildren in KwaZulu-Natal, but failed to supply the food which resulted in thousands of learners going hungry for weeks in April.
