Afriforum Blames Police For Death Threats Against Bergview Principal

Lobby group AfriForum is placing blame for the death threats received by a principal at Bergview College squarely on the shoulders of both social media detectives and what they describe as inadequate police work.
This situation emerged following the principal's identification as a suspect in the deeply troubling case of a seven-year-old girl who was allegedly raped on the school premises.
According to reports from News24, AfriForums advocate Gerrie Nel is calling into question the procedures employed by local law enforcement, stating that the rationale behind requiring a DNA sample from the principal was miscommunicated.
He insists that the police only sought the sample at the request of the complainant, rather than due to any substantiated belief that the principal was a suspect in the horrific crime that took place in October last year.
The polices inability to properly investigate this crime, coupled with a reluctance to provide meaningful and accurate feedback, has led to the dissemination of false and defamatory claims made by the public and even state officials, Nel contended in a letter addressed to the commander of the Matatiele police station.
