Benin Republic coach, Gernot Rohr, has insisted that his team missed Mohamed Tijani during their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifying 3-0 defeat to Nigerias Super Eagles on Saturday.
A brace from Ademola Lookman and a strike from Victor Osimhen ensured the Super Eagles defeated Benin at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Speaking at his post-match interview, Rohr said Tijani, who was very important in his team, was injured.
We didnt have the same defence. We missed Mohamed Tijani who is a very important player, he was injured, the German tactician said.
We dont have so many big players like you have in Nigeria, that was the difference.
