The race to the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, is reaching fever pitch as Matchday 6 of the qualifiers sees five coveted spots still undecided, Soccernet.ng reports.
With the tournament set to run from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, 19 teams, including Nigeria, South Africa, and reigning champions Cote dIvoire, have already secured their places in Africas premier football event.
Nigeria's Super Eagles guaranteed their spot in the penultimate round, courtesy of Libya's earlier 1-0 victory over Rwanda, which ensured Nigeria would finish in the top two of Group D.
The group's final games remain critical, as Libya, Rwanda, and Benin all have a shot at claiming second place.
Victor Osimhen scored as Nigeria fought back for a 1-1 draw against Benin to seal Group Ds top spot, leaving the Cheetahs with work to do against Libyas Knights.
