Apparently driven by growing intra-African trade following the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area AfCFTA, Africa has emerged as Nigerias largest export destination in 2024.
The latest foreign trade in goods data released by the National Bureau of Statistics NBS, showed that Africa surpassed Europe and Asia as the top regional destination for Nigerian exports for the first time.
This development marks a significant shift in Nigerias trade dynamics, with intra-African trade playing an increasingly dominant role in the countrys economic relationships.
