Acsa Works To Ensure Adequate Jet Fuel Supply At Or Tambo

The Airports Company South Africa ACSA has assured that efforts are underway to ensure the continued supply of jet fuel at the O.R Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park.

ACSA says the current fuel reserves are forecast to last just over seven days, following a fire at the National Petroleum Refiners of South Africa NATREF refinery earlier this month.

With the NATREF refinery set to resume operations at the end of next month, the aviation industry is racing to secure enough supply to meet demand.

ACSA says it is collaborating with various stakeholders to prevent any disruptions in February.

In a statement, it says airlines and suppliers are exploring alternative measures, such as tankering or refuelling at other airports to manage fuel needs.
