Abonglie Salli: From Teacher To Big Brother Mzansi Contestant

Abonglie Salli, popularly known as Abobo is a ''30- year- old'' teacher, by profession from Cape Town and a devoted father . Abobo captured the hearts of many South Africans by vocalising his experience about fatherhood. His sincere and emotional storytelling of losing his mother at a young age, has earned him admiration beyond the competition.

Recently evicted from the ' Big Brother ' house on Sunday alongside Siphesihle and Mshini who were part of the top ten, counting 63 in the house the stakes are high getting high moving to finale with just five housemates left who will be the winner.

Abobo spoke to IOL in a interview about facing certain challenges which put his mental health at risk. He openly spoke about struggling with anxiety due to prolonged separation from his family, especially his daughter, also expressed it during his time in the house about feeling deeply homesick and feeling overwhelmed.

I was missing my daughter so much, it affected me, especially with the bullying I experienced in the house ... which resulted in me being so emotional in the game

Abobo deeply expressed how he felt misunderstood by fellow housemates, particularly when standing up against bullying and how he felt he was being shut down , which contributed to his emotional state during the game. Reflecting on his journey post-eviction, he acknowledged the impact of the mental and emotional challenges he endured. He expressed pride, also went in detail how he never expected to progress this far in the competition.
