A Round Of Applause For The 60th Fleur Du Cap Theatre Awards Winners

In an evening encompassed by glamour and prestige, the 60th Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards took centre stage at DHL Stadium on Sunday, 23 March, where Cape Towns best professional theatrical production elements were honoured for their exceptional contributions to the performing arts - both on stage and off - across several categories.
Often referred to as the Oscars of the Mother Citys theatre industry, the annual performance arts calendar highlight, which was established in 1995, is South Africa's leading annual performance arts competition.
The 23 categories range from performing to directing, scriptwriting, composing and puppetry, as well as exceptional stage, sound, lighting and costume design.
This year, My Fair Lady , produced by Pieter Toerien Productions and Cape Town Opera, took its rightful place under the spotlight with five awards, including Best Production. Leah Mari won Best Performance by a Lead Actress in a Musical, while Graham Hopkins took Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Musical.
The production also won Best Set Design, awarded to Greg King, and Best Costume Design, which went to Neil Stuart Harris, Andrew Botha and Martha Visagie.
