A Heavy Burden: Cape Of Good Hope Spca Rescues Pony From Cruelty

Witnessing a small pony buckling under the load of an absurdly heavy load, a Cape of Good Hope SPCA inspector immediately jumped into action, reports Cape town Etc .

The pony, visibly lame and in distress, was discovered in Kensington being forced to cart the body of an engineless vehicle with four passengers and various car parts inside it.

According to the SPCAs report , the pony struggled with every step as the overloaded cart pushed against its hindquarters.

The cart and vehicle weighed 990kgs without the four occupants - almost triple the ponys own weight of just 360kgs, said SPCA.

Having intervened without hesitation, SPCA Inspector Ayanda Ngcofe insisted the overburdened pony be detached from the makeshift cart before calling the welfare organisations Horse Care Unit to help transport the animal.
