74th Dusi Canoe Marathon Begins In Pietermaritzburg

The 74th Dusi Canoe Marathon starts today at the Bishopstowe Country Club outside Pietermaritzburg.

In the men's race, Andy Birkett is aiming for his 15th Dusi title. His main competitors include Matthew Fenn and Msawenkosi Mtolo, who have both finished as runners-up in the last two editions.

In the women's race, Christie Mackenzie is seeking her fourth consecutive K1 title. She will face competition from Nikki Birkett and Bridgitte Hartley.

Last month, the Dusi Committee confirmed a change in the start location from Campsdrift to Bishopstowe Country Club due to water quality concerns in the city.
