55-point Night For Brunson Lifts Knicks Over Wizards In Overtime

Jalen Brunson showcased a stunning performance with 55 points as the New York Knicks came back from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Washington Wizards 136-132 in overtime on Saturday.

Brunson tallied 42 points during the second half and overtime, aiding the Knicks in overcoming the struggling Wizards for their seventh consecutive NBA win.

This marked his third 50-point game while playing for the Knicks, and New York heavily relied on his scoring against a Washington team missing Kyle Kuzma and leading scorer Jordan Poole.

Justin Champagnie recorded a career-best 31 points for the Wizards, who had an 11-point lead in the third quarter and entered the fourth with an eight-point advantage. They extended their lead to 100-90 early in the final quarter, and after a few lead changes, the Wizards were ahead 119-114 with 1:07 left on the clock.

Brunson executed a three-point play and then tied the game at 119-119 with another driving layup, forcing the game into overtime, where he and Josh Hart each made a couple of critical free throws to seal the win.
