36-year-old Man Drowns At Fish Hoek Beach
A 36-year-old man has drowned at Fish Hoek Beach on the Cape Peninsula in the Western Cape.
National Sea Rescue Institute NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon , says that teams had been activated after reports that a man had disappeared under water after jumping from rocks.
He says that lifeguards had recovered the body and brought it to shore.
On arrival on the scene, CMR paramedics, law enforcement and Fire and Rescue Services paramedics assisted the lifeguards continuing in extensive CPR efforts but after all efforts to resuscitate the man were exhausted, sadly he was declared deceased. The body of the man has been taken into the care of police and government Health Forensic Pathology Services. Police have opened an inquest docket. Condolences are conveyed to family and friends of the deceased man.
