The Independent Power Producer Office has released a list of the 33 bidders that have submitted projects in the third bidding round for utility-scale battery energy storage system BESS capacity.
The deadline for the bid submission was originally October 31 but it was extended to the end of November . The Battery Energy Storage Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme is calling for 616 MW of new capacity.
The proposed projects have a collective capacity of 4 067 MW. This follows recent news that four projects selected in the first bid window are reaching financial close.
The public can expect the announcement of preferred bidders in this round in approximately three months.
