The Nigeria U-17 womens national football team, the Flamingos will start their campaign in the 2024 Womens World Cup against New Zealand on Wednesday, October 16.
In preparation for the tournament, the Bankole Olowookere-led side played out a 1-1 draw with Mexico in a friendly game last weekend.
Faridat Abdulkareem gave Nigeria the lead in the 33rd minute, however, the opposition restored parity before the half-time whistle.
Nigeria is placed in Group A alongside the host nation, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand.
While the opposition have qualified for every edition of the tournament, Nigeria have only missed out once, which came in 2018.
